This guide walks you through setting up your new Stripe card reader. LOKE will be on the phone with you for most of it — just follow along and we’ll handle the technical side. Set aside about 15 minutes.
You’ll need:
- the Stripe S710 reader,
- the dock,
- the hub,
- and the power + ethernet cables from your old device.
Please keep the old PAX device plugged in until we tell you to swap the cables across.

What you’ve received
Check you have all three parts before you start.
Setting up
-
Unbox and check the parts
Take everything out of the box. You should have the reader, the dock, and the hub.
!! Don’t plug anything in yet — wait until LOKE tells you to. -
Sit the reader on the dock
When LOKE tells you to, place the reader squarely onto the dock. It clicks into place with magnets, lining up the contacts on the back.
-
Screw it in at the back to tighten
Underneath / behind the dock there’s a locking screw (the D-ring bolt). Push it up to meet the reader and turn it clockwise until the reader is firmly held and won’t lift off.
Hand-tight is enough — don’t over-tighten. The reader should feel solid and not rock.
-
Plug in the hub, then move the power and ethernet cables over
Connect the hub to the dock/reader. Then take the power cable and the ethernet (network) cable from your old device and plug them into the hub:
* Ethernet cable → the LAN port on the hub (this is your internet).
* Power cable → the power on the hub, then into the wall.
!! Only swap the cables across when LOKE asks you to — this is when the old device goes offline.
The reader prefers a wired connection, so the ethernet cable into the hub is important.
-
Send a photo of the pairing code to LOKE
The reader will power on and load the LOKE software, this can take a few minutes so once powered on whilst connected to ethernet follow the prompts and then leave it to update the software. The final screen after 2-5 mins will be a code to provide to LOKE.
Once loaded, send a photo of the 3-worded pairing code to LOKE which will pair the device to your location and your Stripe Account - this is the payment gateway for processing payments.
-
Send a photo of the code to LOKE
Once the reader has been paired, you will then be presented with another code. Send a photo of this to LOKE.
-
Tell LOKE which POS station to connect it is.
Let LOKE know which POS station you want connected to first. LOKE then contacts Adora to connect the device behind the scenes — you don’t need to do anything here except wait.
-
LOKE will call you back so wait while LOKE connects with Adora
Hold tight while LOKE and Adora connect the device. Check the screen shows the ethernet and charging icons — that means it’s online and powered.
-
Test it, then use it for 24 hours.
Once LOKE says it’s connected, select the Adora icon at the top of the screen, ‘Reload Data’ icon in the top right, open ‘Order Entry’ and place a test order being sure to select ‘LOKE’ as the tender. Keep it running for 24 hours.

LOKE will call back to connect the second device.
After the first device has run smoothly for a day, LOKE will contact you to connect the second device the same way. Repeat steps 2–8 for it.
