Creating Nested Option Sets in Lightspeed

This guide walks you through the process of creating Nested Option Sets in Lightspeed O-Series.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Create the Head Product

• Name your product (e.g., Bernie Mac) and click “Save and edit product”.

2. Create a Variants Template

• Navigate to the Variants tab. This will take you to the Variants page.
• In the Variants Template section (backend only, not visible to customers):
  1. Name the template (e.g., CUSTOMISATIONS) and click Add.
  2. Click Save Template and confirm by pressing Yes.
  • Note: Once saved, the template name cannot be changed. If edits are needed later, you will need to delete the Head Product and start over.

3. Add Variants

• Go to Variants and click Add a new Variant.
• For each variant:
  1. Enter the Variant Name (e.g., Standard Bernie for an unmodified product).
  2. Set the price (e.g., $12 for Standard Bernie).
  3. Click Add Variant.
• Repeat for other variants (e.g., Re-Up Bernie for a modified version).
• Refresh the page to view your newly created variants.
• Adjust the names as needed using the settings cog.
  • Tip: Add prefixes like “1.” or “2.” to control the order they appear (e.g., “1. Standard Bernie”).

4. Add Nested Option Sets to a Variant

• Navigate to the settings cog of the variant you wish to modify (e.g., Re-Up Bernie).
• Select Option Sets to link your nested option sets.

Important:
Option Sets must already be created before you can link them to a variant. To learn how to create Option Sets, refer to the training video at the bottom of this page: Kounta Menu Management Video Guide.

• Click Add Option Set and link the relevant option sets (e.g., Re-Up Sauce, Re-Up Drinks & Re-Up Sides Options for Bernie Mac).
• Save your changes.

5. Preview and Adjust Your Online Menu

• Review your online ordering menu and make any necessary adjustments.
  
  

Troubleshooting

If changes do not appear immediately:

1. Refresh your screen 1-3 times.
2. In Lightspeed, go to Online Products, click Modify, untick 3-4 categories, wait 5-10 seconds, and tick them back on.
